A 25-year-old woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a collision. Police officers are appealing for witnesses to the late-night single-vehicle crash on Swansea Road in Merthyr Tydfil.

The incident happened at around 11.45pm on Friday (April 5), South Wales Police said. The force added the vehicle involved was a white Audi S3 and it was travelling along Swansea Road from Trago Mills and towards the A465.

A statement from the force issued on Sunday said: "Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have any CCTV footage of the incident – or driving beforehand – to get in touch."
